Anyone seen Flyboys?
That movie is the epitome of everything I dislike in the Hollywood system of making movies. This coming from someone who really tries to like a movie for what it is and hates harsh critiques, but the only thing I will hate a movie for is it being made as a simple monetary transaction. (cost of making movie < net profit)

*clink*
IT SUCKS. Being a big fan of WWI aviation didn't help, but really, how could this movie not just suck? It did not try anything new at all. It was so "Hollywood" it was sickening. The same formula we've all seen, just applied to the WWI air war. And I know that history buffs can let inaccuracy grate on them but COME ON. HE DESTROYED AN ENEMY PLANE WITH HIS LANDING GEAR BY BRAKING IN MID-AIR. The Germans are apparently using the Red Baron cheat code because they are all flying red Fokkers. The music was typical. The happy triumphant bit when Americans are killing Germans and the sad bit when German pilots strafe civilian refugees 'cause they really have nothing better to do. (No TV back then.) Since I always make a point to include the good side I will include what there is:
1. Gotha G.V. bomber modeled in a movie was cool to see.
2. Did a more realistic version of a romance plot where the interest doesn't speak fluent English in rural France.
3. Jean Reno was good. Almost drowned out by the rest of the movie though.
This is the only movie I really don't like come to think of it. And I don't even hate it that much. Oh, and I

WWI planes. Now I have to go write about "Der Rote Baron" in the "Best Movie You've Seen Lately..." thread.
